This theory on vibrations and frequencies that form all matter in the universe already exists. It is called the Superstring theory. It's a mathematical model discovered way too early, by accident.
The idea is simple, you define one substance that is the smallest possible thing: a string in one dimension. You can bend it and let it vibrate. If you change the frequency, the mass and behaviour changes, and becomes electrons, protons, neutrino's and a whole bunch more particles.
The strange thing is that the if the strings vibrate in more and more dimensions, all the known laws of physics fall right out of it. This means that it works in the same way in quantum space as it does in spaces the size of the Milky Way. The strong and weak nuclear forces, electromagnetism, and gravity keep working no matter what in size of space you are in.

The downside is of course the immense complexity. The smallest size of a substance possible, is so unimaginably small and moves in so many unaccessible dimensions, that it becomes hard for us to use in a practical way, unlike quantum physics that brought us lasers, microchips, and nano technology.

So if all matter is indeed the result of vibrations of one and the same element, it is not so hard to imagine that all of existence is linked together. Without the vibrations of the sun, all life on earth would not have the power to grow the way it does. Without the massive earth, we would be floating in space. Without our body, all the cells of tissue would fall and die off. Without the cells, the atoms would rocket away into the sky. Everything is part of something bigger, but is also subject to the restrictions enforced by the bigger part.
In that sense, our body is imprisoned by a staggering amount of influences: the Milky Way, the solar system, the sun, the earth, the moon, ... each of them applying a force on us.

Mind over matter is difficult to achieve, but not impossible. Us humans seem to have the unique ability to decide what happens to our body. With willpower you can force your body not to smoke anymore, or to lose weight, or to build muscles. There are even some remarkable monks that bury themselves in caves without food or water for more than three weeks, just by controlled breathing and heartbeat. Would the same monk in the parallel world die to keep the first one alive? Who knows? That is beyond our reach. What is for sure, is that we know as good and control as good as nothing in this world. But we all can choose to control ourselves.

Cheers!
